Louis was born to a very devout family in France. Early on he decided that he wanted to become a priest. His friendships and prayer life led him to a deep and intimate love of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As a missionary Fr. Louis de Montfort travelled anywhere and everywhere to bring the love of Mother Mary to people. He wrote several books, including Secret of the Rosary and True Devotion to Mary. His teachings have endured, and they inspired a young Karol Wojtyla— the future Pope John Paul II—to entrust his entire life “to Jesus through Mary.”
